Quai Ouest, Winner of the SIMI Awards!
The jury of the Grands Prix Simi (Salon de l’Immobilier d’Entreprise, Commercial Real Estate Exhibition), presided by Alain Béchade, decided to designate Quai Ouest as the most innovative renovation or redesign of office space under 5,000 square meters. The other finalist selected by the jury was Gecina’s 55 Amsterdam.
Overlooking the river Seine at 40–42 quai du Point du Jour in Boulogne-Billancourt (92), Quai Ouest is an office building spanning 15,800 square meters (with 330 parking spaces). Constructed in 1993, it was extensively restructured in 2015, a mission entrusted by Emerige to the architecture firm of Brenac + Gonzalez.
Quai Ouest now features an ambitious new façade and a crystalline architecture, which engages with the Seine below, the surrounding buildings, and the sky above, capturing and sending back light and its reflections on its luminescent glass panels.
The renovation of Quai Ouest was guided by a determination to meet new environmental norms and standards. This involved closely considering the treatment of the façades to create optimal acoustic and thermal conditions, the rearrangement of the layout of the offices inside the building, and efforts to rely on the use of natural light as much as possible, as well as the addition of several gardens and green spaces for the occupants to enjoy.
Thanks to the high quality of its design and features, Quai Ouest achieved Exceptional High Environmental Quality certification in commercial buildings and meets the high sustainability standards of the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology (BREEAM) for European commercial buildings and of BBC EFFINERGIE 2009 Renovation.
The media group Amaury relocated its headquarters to Quai Ouest.
